Depression

If you think that you might be depressed, here is a page that may help.

If you are being told you are depressed, or you know that you are — therapy can help you in a number of ways. Just as there are many causes and reasons for depression symptoms, there are many ways to address them. Sometimes medication is needed. Sometimes there are additional stressors complicating your life that only add to a predisposition to depression. Sometimes, trauma is the root cause of symptoms.

An assessment with a qualified mental health professional can be a good place to start. Treatment can involve multiple changes in your lifestyle — getting more exercise, adopting a healthier diet, and other changes that improve general health and fitness can make a big difference. Therapy can also help. You may benefit from developing better emotional habits. Sometimes, we can end up with insecurities, fears, low self worth, or patterns of negative or dysfunctional thinking that perpetuate depression.

I encourage you to speak to a therapist if you believe you may be struggling with depression, to begin your journey to wellness.
